Vélib is sweeping France. The New York Times wrote a lovely article today about the company whose name means "free bicycle" or "bicycle freedom." In Paris, over 20,000 bicycles are available to rent. Need to find one? Check online or just around the block.
The service is fashionable and afordable. However, there are concerns about helmets.
Could this happen in Shreveport? Or Fayetteville? Little Rock? I could see it taking off for several reasons, but we're gonna have to work on them roads. ;)
Don't think you can find a bike? Just see the map.
So, here's the story from last night.
With MIA playing in the background, Emily, Megan, and myself drove out in the middle of Rogers (AR) getting lost. Emily picked the music. Megan navigated. I drove, however, I didn't have two working contacts. One was completely blurred. I need to get some new ones. Damn insurance!
love,
jon
It's beautiful right now. The thunder is in the background. I'll also post this picture to my flickr: http://www.flickr.com/gaufre

Brand New has a new post today covering Walmart's new logo. Being a small, toothless child from the south I'm not sure how I feel about the logochange of my childhood amusemant partk. No one, including Walmart, seems to know exactly what the asterisk means. Possibly a sphincter? Or a sun? A star? Commenter Ren says it best:
"I think that the little sun thingy looks a lot like one of the sprites used to animate Pac-Man as he dies from getting eaten by a ghost."
The "W" does resemble the Wii. Or possibly they're stealing ideas from Wallpaper*. Either way, design blogs today aren't loving it, but I'd imagine that Walmart is happy with it. The new logo says, techie-evironment-natural-approachable. Frankly, that's what they're looking for. They may just get it.
I was inspired by Jane Sample's post on the brands she encountered during one day. So, for the past 24-hours I have encountered these logos/brands, which might be interesting. No condoms here!
